It will be a long summer while we wait for the fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy to drop on Netflix. Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore all return to deal with the new timeline that emerged at the end of last season where the Hargreeve siblings have no powers. Too bad, so sad, the world needs saving anyway.
The Umbrella Academy Season 4 begins streaming on Netflix on August 8th.
MAX’s upcoming series, Fantasmas, seems like a good pairing with The Umbrella Academy. It’s created, directed, written, and starring Julio Torres (Los Espookys, Problemista) and tells the story of Julio’s surreal travels through New York City searching for a golden oyster earring.
Fantasmas also stars Emma Stone, Steve Buscemi, Paul Dano, Julia Fox, Bowen Yang, Aidy Bryant, Kim Petras, and Ziwe. It begins on MAX on June 7th.
The Rings Of Power is back on Amazon in August. I feel like we collectively decided that season one wasn’t very good. But Amazon has money to burn and the Tom Bombadil character design to ruin, so here we are!
The season two cast includes Ciarán Hinds, Tanya Moodie, Gabriel Akuwudike, Ben Daniels, Yasen ‘Zates’ Atour, Sam Hazeldine, Calam Lynch, Nia Towle, Oliver Alvin-Wilson, Nicholas Woodeson, Rory Kinnear, and many of the cast members who returned from season one.
The ten-episode season premieres on Prime on August 29th.
I used to really like Dennis Quaid. He was a great leading man in the ’80s with The Right Stuff, The Big Easy, Jaws 3, and Inner Space. Times being what they are, I’m not surprised that Quaid is a Reagan-stan. I’m not even disappointed because it makes sense for him. Am I surprised he’s a Trump supporter? Kind of. But his brother, Randy, turned out to be a certified loon so no, not really.
Anyway, in this week’s lagniappe, Dennis is staring in a Reagan biopic, and that’s not even the worst news. Creed frontman Scott Stapp is playing Frank Sinatra. That’s an outrage. Ol’ Blue Eyes is going to haunt him forever.
