Landman completed its second season this week, which means we have to go nearly two whole months without a Taylor Sheridan series airing on Paramount. How will we ever survive without a 55-year-old man awkwardly mocking wokeism? His next series is The Madisons, and in just 30 seconds, it has everything we’ve come to expect from Sheridan.
There are the A-list leads, here Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell. There’s grief (clearly, Pfeiffer’s character loses a husband); there’s the A-list cameo (Will Arnett plays a Manhattan therapist); there’s a jab at wokism (it’s not an ‘Indian,’ mom, it’s ‘Native American!’); and there’s Sheridan’s keen eye for dialogue: “What do I have before I’m too old to do anything but just remember”); and of course, there are horses. Because horses are gonna heal this widow’s heart. That, and the love of a good man!
It will be devastating. And cringeworthy. And probably very watchable thanks to that cast.
The Madisons streams on March 14th.
