The BeyHive Comes After Amy Poehler For a Raunchy Joke at Blue Ivy's Expense

I haven’t seen it yet, but I plan to watch Difficult People, a new series on Hulu starring Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner, produced by Amy Poehler — who is apparently heavily involved in the production of the series. That’s why folks on social media are coming after Poehler specifically for a joke in the series made at the expense of Blue-Ivy, Beyonce’s three-year-old daughter.

“I can’t wait for Blue Ivy to be 18-years-old so R Kelly can piss on her,” is the joke that Julie Klausner’s character makes, a joke that it criticized by Billy Eichner’s character and an online troll in the series, who tells Klausner to “kill herself” for the joke.

That sounds like a joke that’d be made on a Billy Eichner show.

Nevertheless, Poehler is getting criticism from it on Twitter, and it hasn’t been pretty.

There are a lot more tweets like that, and it’s hard to say that’s the general consensus or if that’s an overreaction from Beyonce’s fanbase. All I know is that it’s hard to make comedy these days, and Amy Poehler is a wonderful goddamn person.

The joke, on the other hand?
