Here are your 2019 Emmy nominations (the show itself will air in September). You might be surprised to learn that this year’s nominations mostly don’t suck. There are a lot of great shows that weren’t included because there are too many great shows to include (Late Night with Seth Meyers, Superstore), and there were some middling shows that were included (Ozark and This Is Us), but for the most part, the Emmy folks got a lot of this right. They managed to include great shows like Fleabag, Killing Eve, Succession, When They See Us, and Chernobyl, and better yet, Modern Family is nowhere to be found.
