It’s mostly renewals today unless you’re a fan The Blacklist, which was not canceled, but NBC did announce that it would be ending after its upcoming tenth season. I cannot believe it has run for 10 seasons. I check back in on it every once in a while to see if we’ve found out who Liz Keen’s feather is yet, and I don’t know if it’s been revealed, but everyone in our comments section seems to believe that James Spader’s character is Liz Keene’s mother, which might have been surprising 10 years ago, but now? Nah.

Meanwhile, in renewals, NBC has picked up Night Court for a second season. That’s not a surprise. Ratings have been huge, the best for a network sitcom since the premiere of The Conners. Maybe NBC will get back into the business of making more sitcoms, and as much as I generally like Night Court, maybe they could also make much better sitcoms. (Also, that updated Night Court theme is still bad).

Also, unsurprisingly, Paramount+ has picked up another season of 1923, which I assumed was a done deal when Taylor Sheridan said he needed two seasons to complete the story. Who is going to say no to Taylor Sheridan? Elsewhere, AMC has also picked up Mayfair Witches for a second season. I’m happy for AMC, but not so happy for that show. You have no idea how much I root for you, AMC! But Mayfair Witches ain’t it!

Rachel Bloom doesn’t understand why Hulu canceled Reboot (same) and they’re shopping it around. Try NBC/Peacock, Rachel! They’re in the comedy business again (except for that whole giving Girls5Eva to Netflix).

As we’ve mentioned before, Cobra Kai will end after its forthcoming sixth season, but the Cobra Kai universe will live on.
