Having found massive success on 12 seasons of Big Bang Theory, Kaley Cuoco has pivoted into a different direction, which hasn’t panned out as well as we thought it might after the first season of Flight Attendant. She’s into mysteries and spy thrillers now, which was great in that first season of the aforementioned HBO Max series. It wasn’t so great in the second season. Or on the Peacock mystery series Based on a True Story (in either the first or second season). Or in the spy thriller movie Role Play opposite David Oyelowo.

No matter. Cuoco is returning to the well once again, starring opposite a new generation of Chris Messina, Sam Claflin (a Chris Messina type is a male actor who capably plays a supporting role to the more famous female lead. See also Greg Kinnear, James Marsden, and occasionally Paul Rudd. Oh my god, I just realized that I am a real-life Messina). This one is called Vanished, an MGM+ series premiering on February 1st.

“When a couple’s trip to Paris takes a dark turn with the sudden disappearance of her boyfriend Tom (Claflin) aboard a train to the south of France, Alice (Cuoco) is plunged into a web of intrigue and danger, uncovering shocking secrets about the man she thought she knew.”

That sounds very Cuoco 2.0. Here’s the trailer:

Yes, even though Amazon owns MGM+, I believe you’ll need to subscribe to MGM+ separately to watch the series, but you’ll also have access to Robin Hood, From, and The Institute.
