It appears that TFG will have challengers for the Republican nomination in 2024. We are a ways away from seeing if they pose a threat to his GOP stranglehold. That doesn’t mean his opponents aren’t getting ready. Ron DeSantis is hard at work making Florida an uneducated Conservative paradise. Nikki Haley is hitting the campaign trail. She even held her first rally recently, and Jordan Klepper was there to interview the crowd and get the f*** out of there.

Klepper is no stranger to GOP rallies. That probably explains why the magic is gone. Klepper is still funny. Republicans are still crazy. Something just feels different. For starters, this is, to my recollection, the shortest rally video that Klepper has ever put out. I would say that, on average, the videos run between five and a half to seven minutes. This one doesn’t even make it to four. Klepper is doing the work. This barrel may just be dry.

This segment also features what feels like a first. Someone seems to have their mind changed in real time due to something Klepper says! Jordan takes a moment to talk to an attendee about one of the speakers in attendance. Human garbage can John Hagee was Haley’s first speaker. He is a hateful bigot. When Klepper informs the person he’s talking to that Hagee claimed Hurricane Katrina was punishment for gay people, the person appears to be genuinely shocked. There is a distinct “I’ve made a huge mistake” look on their face. It’s delightful.

I don’t know how long Klepper can keep doing this. It’s not only that he has to suffer hate and stupidity, though that’s part of it. I just don’t think the material can sustain itself for much longer. Hopefully, I’m right. But I have a big fear that when TFG gets back on the road, the worst of us will rise again, emboldened by his awfulness. Jordan Klepper will be there, asking them the tough questions. When it comes to these people, that’s any question at all.
