Fine, Here's the Rest of the Trailers and Announcements to Come Out of D23

I’m not particularly keen on helping Disney market its content, but it’s a slow news morning, and Disney dropped a lot of announcements and trailers over the weekend at D23, so let’s do this:

— We’ve already covered the Hocus Pocus 2, Little Mermaid, and Disenchanted trailers, but here’s the trailer I’m probably most excited about, even though I have not personally read the source material: A Percy Jackson And The Olympians series is coming to Disney+. Each season will probably tackle one book in the Rick Riordan series. The trailer looks fun, although we do not yet have a release date:

The Marvel series Secret Invasion features a lot of the folks we saw in Captain Marvel — Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Don Cheadle, and Samuel L. Jackson — but it also brings in Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke. They’re dealing with the Skrulls again.

Tim Allen’s Santa Claus is retiring in the teaser for Santa Clauses, and he’s looking for a replacement. It probably will not be Peyton Manning, but this is why Manning is in the header photo. You’re welcome. The Santa Clauses is coming to Disney+ in November.

The National Treasure: Edge Of History series debuts in December. It will not star Nic Cage. Other actors like Harvey Keitel, however, will receive paychecks.

There is no trailer for 2024’s Marvel film, Thunderbolts, but we do know it will feature Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Good cast. No idea what it will be about. Meanwhile, Don Cheadle is also getting his own show, Armor Wars based on the fall-out of the Skrull invasion, so I guess it’s the follow-up to Secret Invasion.

It’s hard to believe that it has been 2 years since the last season of The Mandalorian, but it has. Here’s a trailer for the third season. It’ll be out sometime in 2023.

Christian Slater has joined the cast of the Willow series. Here’s a new trailer for that.

Inside Out 2 is coming in 2024. Amy Poehler will return as Joy. Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling — who were offered meager salaries — will not, as the movie will have to contend with some different emotions as the central character, Riley, becomes a teenager. I assume those emotions will be angst, apathy, self-hatred, and loathing.
