Yesterday was a big day for Awkwafina. Not only did the rapper turned movie star take home a Gotham Award for her dramatic turn in the critically heralded The Farewell but also Comedy Central unleashed the first look at her new comedy series Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens.

Created by Awkwafina, the show centers on a 27-year-old resident of Flushing, Queens, who still lives at home with her dad (BD Wong) and grandma (Orange Is The New Black’s Lori Tan Chinn). From the trailer below, it seems this premiere season of Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens will feature its titular screw-up trying to find a job, searching for purpose, and mixing it up with Bowen Yang, Natasha Lyonne, and lots of bong hits.

Kooky stoner chick tries to figure out adulting in New York City. Could this show fill the Broad City-shaped hole left in our hearts by that sensational series’ conclusion? We’ll find out when Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens premieres January 22 on Comedy Central.
