Swedish death cleaning, alas, is not a cool metal band. As Amy Poehler describes in the trailer for The Gentle Art Of Swedish Death Cleaning, it’s akin to Marie Kondo’s method, only it’s less about what brings you joy personally and more about decluttering and ensuring that you don’t leave a lot of crap behind for your children, friends, or other loved ones to clean up after you die.
It’s comfort reality television, basically for people like me who cannot handle Hoarders, which makes me incredibly anxious, but also finds the cleaning process incredibly gratifying. It’s like a makeover show for your clutter … and your soul.
The Gentle Art Of Swedish Death Cleaning is streaming April 27th on Peacock.
