A ‘Love Is Blind’ Contestant Said She Looks Like Megan Fox and the Internet Exploded

Everyone’s favorite toxic dating show is back and the “uncomfy” situations persist. Actually, for the first few minutes of Love Is Blind season six, I thought maybe they’d finally found some normal people who knew how to talk about feelings and stuff, and we wouldn’t have to bear witness to rampant emotional abuse. I was … wrong.

Once the resident creepy man left the pods early because he got caught saying the same sweet nothings to two women, the main drama of the first batch of episodes revolved around Chelsea Blackwell, a 31-year-old flight attendant and event planner who’d successfully charmed two men into proposing to her. She chose Jimmy Presnell, a 28-year-old software salesman, and left a perfectly nice, mulleted project manager, Trevor Sova (and the entirety of the LIB viewership), heartbroken.

The only problem? Blackwell told Presnell that she’d been told before that she kinda sorta looks like Megan Fox. It could have been a throwaway moment—she made it sound like she didn’t believe it herself, maybe even didn’t remember Fox’s name at first, thought people only thought it because she had “dark hair and light eyes” and some tattoos—but it became clear that it probably played a big role in Presnell’s proposal when the first thing he said after meeting his fiancée for the first time was “She definitely lied to me on … how she looked.” It was, dear reader, all downhill from there.

The internet dragged Blackwell through the mud for the comparison, which is gross for the obvious reasons, but felt grosser while watching the inevitable downfall of her relationship with Presnell. This man is so clearly just not that into her. She can see it, her cast mates can see it, we can see it. Not that he’s some Adonis or something—he looks like every other dude who wears loafers without socks—but he’s treating her like she just crawled out of a haunted swamp, blatantly flirting with other women in front of her and way overdoing it with the “I’m so happy” comments while she way overdoes it with the “You feeling good about us?” comments. It’s sad and hard to watch.

Blackwell has responded to the backlash on Instagram and TikTok.

But who cares what the haters say when Julia Fox thinks you look like Megan Fox? They have the same last name so that has to count for something.

I couldn’t care less about who Chelsea does or doesn’t look like and am more invested in seeing if she and the Mullet Man rekindle their romance and leave Jiminy Cricket in the dust.

He said in a story that his dream woman is someone who looks like Margot Robbie or “young Jennifer Aniston,” so I’m not holding my breath. Unless, of course, someone told Chelsea that she kinda looks like a brunette Margot Robbie? Stranger things have happened!
