I can’t possibly be alone in thinking that this is one of the slowest, most garbage weeks we’ve seen in a while. Between the Nate Parker news, Kurt Metzger’s stupid face, and everything else happening in our world and our social media feeds, let me throw a bunch of happy at you, okay?

—First, Brie Larson just coined the single best description of why trolls troll.

—Turns out Diana Ross is an awesome mom.

—Today— as of writing this, it’s still today on the West Coast— is Black Cat Appreciation Day. Black cats, you are appreciated.

—Fu Yuanhui, the beyond awesome Olympic Chinese swimmer was super honest about swimming on her period. (Swimming on your period isn’t the best subject for inducing happiness, I guess, but not giving a crap about taboos is!)

—Here’s Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez killing a floor routine, back when she was a teeny tiny nine-year-old.

—This little goat had the best first day on the planet. (Don’t tell her it’s all downhill from there, okay?)

—While we’re on the subject of animals in clothes, this chicken has some fancy-ass pants.

—And this kitten has a bow-tie.
