The Secretary of State and Director of the C.I.A. Expected to Be Even More Terrifyingly Right Wing-y In the Coming Weeks

According to the NYTimes, Donald Trump’s Chief of Staff has designed a transition plan that will see Secretary of State Rex Tillerson forced out, only to be replaced by C.I.A. Director Mike Pompeo, who will be replaced at the C.I.A. by Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton.

Trump is apparently tired of Tillerson, who thinks the President is a “moron,” because he is. He is expected to leave in the next few weeks. Pompeo, an ardent ally of Trump who has distorted intelligence to downplay Russian interference in the election, would take over as the key guy in charge of our relations with Russia. Meanwhile, Tom Cotton — a hawkish GOP Senator who is actually pushing for regime change through war with Iran — will become the director of the C.I.A..

Tillerson is a bumbling fool, but at least he’s not in Trump’s pocket. Mike Pompeo would be. Meanwhile, who the hell knows what Tom Cotton could do with the power bestowed upon him as head of the C.I.A. Basically this:
