The Most Nonsense Answers in Donald Trump's Nevada Interview

Donald Trump — as Megan Kelly points out — doesn’t often give interviews outside of the Sean Hannity and “Fox and Friends” protective bubble. It’s probably because he’s very bad at answering questions.

However, he probably thought when he agreed to talk with a local news reporter in Nevada yesterday that it’d be an easy interview with a bunch of softball questions, and it was! But instead of hitting those softballs over the left field fence, Donald Trump let those softballs hit him in the nose.

It was a short interview — only a few minutes long — but Trump still managed to squeeze in a lot of nonsense.

— Asked about what Trump thinks of having nuclear waste stored in the Yucca mountains, Trump said he didn’t have an opinion, but that he definitely would have an opinion one day.

“I’ll take a look at it, and the next time you interview me, I’ll have an answer,” Trump said. Then the reporter suggested storing the nuclear waste underneath the wall that Trump says he’s going to build, and reiterated that having nuclear waste so near a population center is bad for Nevada tourism. Trump reiterated, again that he has no opinion. “I will take a very strong look at it and I will come very strongly one way or another. I will have an opinion.”

In other words, Trump — who does a lot of business in Nevada, and has spent the last 18 months in and out of the state courting voters — has no fucking clue what Yucca Mountain is.

— Here, Trump basically ANNOUNCES his conflicts of interest in his discussion of a potential trade war with China.

“But what if China said no more visas to go to Las Vegas and stay at Trump Tower,” pressed Snyder.

“If China ever did that, and we cut off relationship with China, China would go bust so fast,” said Trump.

Wait, what? He’d end our relationship with China over access to Trump Tower?

Cool, cool, cool.

— Asked about his history of sexist statements, Trump had a very simple excuse.

“A lot of that was done for the purpose of entertainment, there’s nobody that has more respect for women than I do,” he said.

Ohhhh! It was just for entertainment, you guys! It’s totally OK. Just like Fox News insulted Asians yesterday for “entertainment purposes.” It clearly doesn’t count as racism or sexism if it’s done for entertainment, right?

Yeah, that’s Trump in the header hanging out at Hooters for “the purpose of entertainment,” but it is a personal policy of mine not to include photos of Trump on the site for the protection of our young and more squeamish readers. That’s why his face is blacked out.
