To bring everyone quickly up to speed: Abby Grossberg, a former producer for Tucker Carlson’s show, is suing Fox News, accusing the network — first, in her job working for Maria Bartiroma and later for Tucker Carlson — of promoting a culture of misogyny and workplace discrimination. She’s also suing the network for allegedly pressuring her to change her deposition in the Dominion lawsuit. Evidence from Abby Grossberg may have also played a role in the network’s decision to fire Tucker Carlson.
Abby Grossberg explains how she was used as a plant by Fox to spy on another female colleague and that Tucker Carlson was intent on portraying the FBI as the culprit of the 1/6 attack, despite what Proud Boy lawyers said.

As part of the lawsuits, Grossberg claims to have up to 90 audio recordings, many of which show how transparent not only the Fox News hosts were about trying to overturn the 2020 election results, but others, as well, including Ted Cruz. In fact, one audio recording released by Abby Grossberg specifically implicated the Texas Senator in efforts to overturn the election. Ted Cruz’s role in that effort has been previously reported on, but the audio sheds new light on the lengths Cruz went to in an effort to prevent Biden from taking office. From The Washington Post:
In the plan Cruz laid out to the Fox News host [Maria Bartiroma] and her producer, if a majority of the House and the Senate objected to electoral certification on Jan. 6, 2021, then an electoral commission would be stood up immediately, commencing a 10-day review period to be completed before the inauguration. If the commission found “credible evidence of fraud that undermines confidence in the electoral results in any given state,” then the state would then call a special session and recertify results, according to Cruz.
“Is there any chance you can overturn this?” Bartiromo asked Cruz.
“I hope so,” he responded.
Cruz obviously does not deny his words.
This @msnbc 🤡 is breathlessly reporting that I “secretly” said in a phone call…the EXACT same thing I said on national television the next morning!

And then said again on the Senate floor four days later. 🤷🏻♂️ https://t.co/q7QMdbxZrJ
It’s unclear if there is any criminal liability in Cruz’s efforts to overturn a Presidential election — again, none of this is new, except that he shared his strategy with Fox News — but the DOJ’s special counsel investigating the January 6th insurrection, Jack Smith, has asked Abby Grossman’s lawyer for recordings.
In the meantime, a number of reasons for Tucker Carlson’s exit from Fox News continue to surface, including the Abby Grossberg lawsuits and whatever is potentially on her tapes. The latest rumor is that Rupert Murdoch fired Tucker Carlson for a speech he gave Friday night that included extreme religious overtones. Murdoch doesn’t like God talk. In fact, it may be the reason that he broke off his engagement to Ann Lesley Smith last month. From Vanity Fair:
Rupert Murdoch was perhaps unnerved by Carlson’s messianism because it echoed the end-times worldview of Murdoch’s ex-fiancée Ann Lesley Smith, the source said. In my May cover story, I reported that Murdoch and Smith called off their two-week engagement because Smith had told people Carlson was “a messenger from God.” Murdoch had seen Carlson and Smith discuss religion firsthand. In late March, Carlson had dinner at Murdoch’s Bel Air vineyard with Murdoch and Smith, according to the source. During dinner, Smith pulled out a bible and started reading passages from the Book of Exodus, the source said. “Rupert just sat there and stared,” the source said. A few days after the dinner, Murdoch and Smith called off the wedding. By taking Carlson off the air, Murdoch was also taking away his ex’s favorite show.
If that is indeed the reason Carlson was fired, Tucker may be reluctant to say as much because apparently Fox News has a “secret oppo file” to keep him in check, according to Rolling Stone. “The file includes internal complaints regarding workplace conduct, disparaging comments about management and colleagues, and allegations that the now-former primetime host created a toxic work environment, three of the sources say.”
