Recall yesterday that Republican Representative Blake Farenthold, that jackass in the rubber ducky pajamas above, essentially challenged Susan Collins to a duel, calling out female Senators from the Northeast who voted against repealing Obamacare (only one female Senator fits that category). “If it was a guy from south Texas I might ask him to step outside and settle this Aaron Burr-style,” Farenthold said.
Again, that jackass in the rubber ducky pajamas above suggested that he could win a duel.
“In twenty years in the Senate, I have had a lot of people make suggestions about how to resolve legislative disputes, but until today nobody had ever suggested a duel,” Susan Collins said in a statement after hearing about the threat.
Today on a hot mic, however, Susan Collins was a little more open with her feelings. You can hear it in the last couple of minutes from his CSPAN video, but the transcript between Collins and another some guy — another Senator, I think? Sounds like Jack Reed — that begins with complaints about the budget and the health care bill.
Collins: Did you see the one who challenged me to a duel?Male Senator: You know why he challenged you to a duel? Because you could beat the shit out of him.
Collins: (laughter) I don’t mean to be unkind, but he is so incredibly unattractive it’s unbelievable. Did you see that picture of him in his pajamas next to that bunny …?
I don’t mean to be unkind either, but she is not wrong.
