This Woman Just Did Something That's On Our Bucket List

Piers Morgan is a blowhard who blows hard. He thinks women don’t understand feminism, race, or math. And no matter how many times waves of women rise up to explain to him that he is not the White Knight we need or deserve, he’ll wake up once more with zero self-awareness and make an ass of himself on television or Twitter all over again. The latest source of the British blowhard’s embarrassment is from a segment on Good Morning Britain, in which he attempted to railroad his guest, progressive blogger Ash Sarkar.

Here’s how that went:

The clip begins with Sarkar answering a question about a march intended to protest President Donald Trump’s heinous detainment of immigrants, which has separated families and caused miscarriages in mistreated pregnant detainees. Morgan—who’s such a fan of Trump that he had a pic of the pair of them as his Twitter avatar for a while—tries to call Sarkar a hypocrite, insisting she wasn’t outraged when Obama deported immigrants. He asks her a question he won’t allow her to answer, literally shouting over her. “It’s double standards!” he proclaims.

But Sarkar doesn’t back down, responding Morgan should get to know her work before he spouts off. When he insults her by suggesting she’s an idiot, she calls him one outright, declaring, “(Obama’s) not my hero. I’m a communist, you idiot.”

She then accuses him of “strawman-ning your guests to make up for your own incompetence as a journalist.” She calls him out for his coddling of Trump, and says, “It’s embarrassing. And instead what you’ve done is strawman your guest. You put words in my mouth, and deflected from the actual argument at hand.”

Ignoring everything she’s said, Morgan repeats that Trump gets an unfair shake, that she adores Obama. Sarkar cuts him off, once more making our hearts flutter. She declares, “I’m not Pro-Obama. I’m a critic of Obama. I’ve been a critic of the Democratic Party because I AM LITERALLY A COMMUNIST.

We envy Sarkar. Not only did she make Morgan look a fool on his own show (though he deserves some of the credit), but also she called him an idiot to his face on live television. And it didn’t make him listen. But it did create a break from his shouting that allowed her point to get across to the others on the panel and those watching at home. Like my dad used to tell me, “You can’t fix stupid.” But at least you can call it out when you see it. You point out the emperor has no clothes, so all the others can see past the bluster and pomp and see the stupid truth of the fool proudly parading before them.
