Update: Nancy Pelosi has announced that the House of Representative is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry.

It’s all happening.

A few minutes ago, Donald Trump authorized the release of the transcript of his conversation with the Ukrainian President. That, of course, is not what the Democrats wanted. They wanted the release of the whistleblower report, which includes — but is not limited to — the conversation between Trump and the Ukranian President.

Of course, if Trump released the transcript without the whistleblower complaint, it wouldn’t lay out the entire case, and Trump and his defenders would take to the airwaves and decry the Democrats for making something out of nothing.

It appears that Nancy Pelosi is going to make something out of that something before Trump can nullify it on Fox News. The Washington Post is reporting that Nancy Pelosi is expected to announce a formal impeachment inquiry. This comes amid a growing number of House Democrats publicly supporting impeachment (that number is currently over 160) and, interestingly, on the same day Trump called her and tried to sweet-talk her into gun legislation. I guess he thought he could use that as cover.

The Democrats are so focused on hurting the Republican Party and the President that they are unable to get anything done because of it, including legislation on gun safety, lowering of prescription drug prices, infrastructure, etc. So bad for our Country!

Minutes after The Washington Post reported that Pelosi would announce a formal impeachment inquiry, this also happened:

We have been informed by the whistleblower’s counsel that their client would like to speak to our committee and has requested guidance from the Acting DNI as to how to do so.

We’re in touch with counsel and look forward to the whistleblower’s testimony as soon as this week.

All of this also comes on the same day that Donald Trump attempted to provide a cover story for withholding $400 million of aid from Ukraine. Over the weekend, it was so that it would look into corruption. This morning, it was because he was waiting for more help from Europe. He knew was screwed, and now he’s trying to cover his ass.

Things are moving quickly now, as they did with Nixon when he was impeached. We’ve gone from “brewing scandal” last Thursday to “formal impeachment inquiry” today.
