Morning Briefing: Fox News Calls Out Donald Trump for Calling Out Fox News
Every great once in a while, Shep Smith, Chris Wallace, or Neil Cavuto over on Fox News will say something reasonable. This is one of those times.
"Mr. President, we don't work for you. I don't work for you," Fox News host Neil Cavuto said in the closing monologue of his show. "My job is to cover you, not fawn over you or rip you. Just report on you." pic.twitter.com/owHC2gwd0u— Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) August 30, 2019
Of course, on the same network, someone suggested that Joe Biden may be mentally unfit for the Presidency because he badly screwed up a story he told yesterday.
It’s true. Biden did badly screw up the telling of a story, and we should probably stop calling them “gaffes” just because Biden commits them, when if another candidate — say, Elizabeth Warren — committed them, they wouldn’t be called “gaffes,” they’d be called lies.
On the other hand, it’s rich of Fox News to suggest Biden is mentally unfit. I mean … this is pretty wild.

Speaking of wild, it turns out — according to Trump aides — that Trump completely fabricated a phone call with Chinese leaders, in which he told the press that talks were going well, in order to influence the markets, which is amazingly f**ked up.
Meanwhile, one of those Trump aides — Donald Trump’s personal assistant, Madeleine Westerhout — was forced to resign yesterday. Westerhout had been Trump’s PA since Day 1 of his administration, but apparently, she got a little too free with details about Trump’s family members in an off-the-record conversation with journalists.
Finally, I leave you with this, a little schadenfreude to get you through the long weekend.
