I’m sitting in a tiny bathroom right now with my dog waiting on some skunk odor remover to do its magic after our dog was skunked for the third time in ten days (the goddamn dog keeps chasing skunks under our porch stairs). I’m in an enclosed space with the dog and it is miserable, and the odor remover isn’t doing a damn thing. It smells like sulfur and ammonia and Nazis.
Anyway, while I’m dealing with this ordeal again, I have taken some comfort in the denunciations I have been reading on Twitter while I’m waiting. I’m taking less comfort, unfortunately, from the folks at Fox News.
Anyway, here’s what’s going on at the moment on social media.
Van Jones is making me cry. "It's not just the people you're emboldening. It's the people you're abandoning." #ImpeachTrump

Fox News and some other pro-Trump conservatives, of course, remains as deluded as ever.
President @realDonaldTrump once again denounced hate today. The GOP stands behind his message of love and inclusiveness!

At least one Fox Newser didn’t get today’s talking points:

A Republican Senator:

Marco Rubio opens up a goddamn Twitter thread on Trump:
The organizers of events which inspired & led to #charlottesvilleterroristattack are 100% to blame for a number of reasons. 1/6
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) August 15, 2017
They are adherents of an evil ideology which argues certain people are inferior because of race, ethnicity or nation of origin. 2/6

A couple of Dem politicians:
Schumer: "Great and good American presidents seek to unite not divide. Donald Trump’s remarks clearly show he is not one of them."
— Sabrina Siddiqui (@SabrinaSiddiqui) August 15, 2017
Just stopped on roadside to read @POTUS remarks. I nearly threw up. An American President offering a defense of white supremicists. My god.
