On Sunday night, after spending 20 minutes discussing how bad a person Vice President Mike Pence is, John Oliver offered up a book for sale: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver Presents a Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo. The book is a parody of a book written by Mike Pence’s family about their pet rabbit’s adventures at the White House, Marlon Bundo’s Day in the Life of the Vice President.

The biggest difference being, in John Oliver’s book, the rabbit falls in love with another male rabbit and they get married. Mike Pence, of course, is no friend of the LGBTQ community, is opposed to gay marriage, and has backed gay conversion therapy.

“Please, buy it for your children, buy it for any child you know, or just buy it because you know it would annoy Mike Pence. You would be doing a nice thing in a really dickish way, and isn’t that the dream at the end of the day?”

This morning, John Oliver appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and she revealed that his dream has become a reality: His book was number one on the Amazon Bestseller’s list.

The Pence Family book? Number four.

In fact, Oliver’s book has sold out (although, it’s being reprinted and you can still order it). All proceeds for that book go to the Trevor Project and AIDS United.
