Here’s an actual quote from Donald Trump. A real one. That came out of his mouth. That I’m not making up. That’s being printed in online publications and newspapers around the globe at this very moment. This is how Donald Trump responded to outrage from Republicans, journalists, and common decent Americans over Trump’s declaration during the debate last night that he’d leave us in “suspense” over whether he’d accept the results of the election on November 8th:
“I would like to promise and pledge to all of my voters and supporters and to all of the people of the United States, that I will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential election — if I win,” he said, grinning.
DEMOCRACY SAVED, as long as Donald Trump wins. According to the latest polls, there’s about an 8 percent chance of that.
He didn’t just come up with that on the spot, either. That remark wasn’t ad-libbed. He scripted it. In fact, he even scripted an alternative line with the same meaning.
Weird—Trump camp sent out his prepared remarks with both "if I win" line & "alternate" punchline about accepting Hillary's concession speech pic.twitter.com/DQy8vJvi7a

Even Mini-Trump, Paul LePage — the worst governor in America, and a strong Trump surrogate — spoke out against Trump’s comment:
“Not accepting the results, I think, is a stupid comment. I mean, c’mon. Get over yourself.”
Trump just got called stupid by the dumbest major elected official in the United States. LePage also stopped short of calling Hillary Clinton a “nasty woman,” tempering himself by saying only, “I resent that woman.”
Meanwhile, Donald Trump looked like Roy Stalin trying to straighten his tie and maintain his composure after being humiliated by Lane Meyer in a ski race. The only thing missing here was Melania Trump kicking him in the groin, walking away, and hooking up with Ricky.
