In an interview with George Stephanopoulos, Trump upbraids his own Chief of Staff for … coughing.
Pres. Trump says he “might” turn over his “financial statement” to Congress.

“I hope they get it, because it’s a fantastic financial statement,” he tells @GStephanopoulos in the Oval Office. https://t.co/8q0FwFD9qt pic.twitter.com/fw1tIc0vxO
That’s not unusual, either. A 2016 campaign volunteer told that “when I came aboard to never cough or sneeze while in the presence of Trump. He thinks it’s a sign of weakness and lack of control. Nobody ever recovers.”
For coughing!
In the grand scheme, that will be a meaningless story, but that clip embodies the Trump Presidency. He has no empathy for others; he cares more about appearance than substance; he is easily distracted; and even while delivering word salad while buried under two inches of pancake make-up, Trump is looking for the camera, shaking his head pitifully at Mick Mulvaney for coughing half a second before putting on his Trump face for the camera, stopping and stuttering until he finds the right camera angle.
It’s so weird.
Trump is so pissy during this entire interview. This clip is also … it’s insane. That’s what it is. It’s absolutely insane.

You can read the entire transcript of the interview, but I’ll save you the click: It’s word-salad insanity. A lot of what he takes issue with in the interview are the “fake polls” that show him getting his ass kicked in 2020, many of which were internal polls conducted by his own people. And what does he do when he gets bad polls? He fires his pollsters. The reason why those polls were leaked in the first place was so that his people could get Trump to concentrate on his re-election effort and try to change things. Trump’s not interested in changing, and he doesn’t want to hear that what he’s doing is unpopular. He’d rather fire the people who tell the truth, which is why Mike Pompeo nearly blows a gasket yesterday trying to avoid telling a truth that might make his boss look bad.
On Fox News Sunday, Mike Pompeo nearly blows a gasket when Chris Wallace asks him very straightforward questions regarding Trump's comments about how he wouldn't contact the FBI if he's offered dirt on a 2020 opponent by a foreign government. pic.twitter.com/HgpyFDgBG5

I wonder if Trump will listen to Fox News, or if he’s going to start calling them Fake News, as well.
Only Fake Polls show us behind the Motley Crew. We are looking really good, but it is far too early to be focused on that. Much work to do! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Poor picked-upon Trump.
TRUMP: Look. The Republicans in the Senate, every single one of them that I see know this is a witch hunt. They get it 100 percent. And that’s what matters. The Democrats are going to do it only because they might think it helps them. I think it actually hurts them in the election. But there’s never been a time in the history of our country where somebody was so mistreated as I have been.
He’s been treated more terribly even than the guy who got a bullet in his head.
Look, it’s been acknowledged. Although they do say Abraham Lincoln was treated really badly. I must say that’s the one. If you can believe it, Abraham Lincoln was treated supposedly very badly. But nobody’s been treated badly like me.
I hope he gets whooping cough from an anti-vaxxer.
