As the Trump administration continues to fall apart as more new questions are raised about Donald Trump’s ties to Russia (and evidence pointing toward a coordinated effort between Russia and Trump to interfere with the election, Counselor to the President, Kellyanne Conway, continues to come under fire. The Office of Government Ethics has recommended disciplining her for endorsing Ivanka Trump’s products, she lies repeatedly about the non-existent Bowling Green Massacre, she champions alternative facts, she retweeted a white nationalist yesterday, and she gave a trainwreck of an interview to the Today show yesterday, where Matt Lauer called her out on her nonsense.
To add to her woes, this morning the conservative morning news show, Morning Joe — hosted by Trump pal, Joe Scarborough — decided it would no longer book Conway. After complaining that Conway often texts cable news shows to get herself booked, co-host Mika Brzezinski said that it would no longer happen on her show.
“I know for a fact she tries to book herself on this show; I won’t do it. Every time I’ve ever seen her on television, something’s askew, off, or incorrect. I will say: Kellyanne Conway does not need to text our show, just as long as I’m on it because it’s not happening here.”
The statement came during a segment in which Brzezenki took issue with Conway’s interview on the Today show yesterday. Scarborough reported that Conway is not even in the loop anymore, that she doesn’t attend key meeting. “I don’t even think she’s saying things she knows to be untrue, she’s just saying things just to get in front of a TV set and prove her relevance because behind the scenes, she’s not in these meetings.”
“Any reporter can ask anyone inside the White House, and they will tell you the same thing: She is not in these [key] meetings.”
“She’s not credible anymore,” Brzezinski added.
This follows a similar segment yesterday, when the co-hosts suggested that Conway has no idea what she’s talking about — she’s just “blathering” — and that she’s “not worth the interview.”
Ten days ago, CNN also refused to book Conway on Jake Tapper’s show. Over the weekend, SNL parodied her desperation in a Fatal Attraction like segment.
