We are truly in the worst timeline, with our respective nations being ruled over by callous and inept bullies who are determined to send us into the bottomless pit of misery. However, watching Boris Johnson squirm as he is repeatedly called out for being a ridiculous failure has its charms. Today, a mere two months into his term as Prime Minister, he faced the biggest roadblock of his career. After trying to suspend Parliament for five weeks in a blatant attempt to avoid allowing MPs to debate Brexit, the Supreme Court ruled that this decision was unlawful.

Delivering its conclusions, the Supreme Court’s president, Lady Hale, said, ‘The decision to advise Her Majesty to prorogue Parliament was unlawful because it had the effect of frustrating or preventing the ability of Parliament to carry out its constitutional functions without reasonable justification.’

Lady Hale said the unanimous decision of the 11 justices meant Parliament had effectively not been suspended, so the decision to do so was made null and void. Johnson said he would ‘respect the verdict’ but that he ‘strongly disagrees’ with it. Yup, he knows he f*cked up. Since Johnson is currently in New York for a UN Summit, Prime Minister’s Questions could not go forward today. Various MPs, including Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, are calling upon him to resign. I wonder how long he’ll hang in for.

Boris Johnson is just awful in every conceivable way, but think about this: He has spent his entire life not only believing that he will one day be Prime Minister but that he is entitled to that position. He spent his professional career meddling and backstabbing and falling into constant pits to scratch his way to the top, including creating a pitch-perfect public image for himself that made him an icon for the Tories. And when he finally got there, he discovered he was totally sh*t at the job! It would be funny if the country weren’t on fire.
