Despite some wildly uneven CGI, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law was infectiously fun, thanks in no small part to Tatiana Maslany. Not only was Maslany a brilliant casting coup, but the show embodied the spirit of the comics by ruthlessly skewering the MCU, and more pointedly, the angry neckbeards who cling to its underbelly. Unfortunately, She-Hulk cost a metric f*ck-ton of money that got poured right down the streaming drain, and Bob Iger ain’t about all that. RIP a real one. (Polygon)

Templeton picked up Bright Young Women by Jessica Knoll because of how it was described on a best books of 2023 list. “I don’t know if I agree with the abovementioned review descriptor as a ‘breakneck thriller’…I found it more of an allegory of the treatment of women.” Have you picked up a book and thought the description writer got it wrong? Cannonball Read is a great place to share your thoughts about books like that, and registration is still open. (Cannonball Read 16)
