Thanks to Supergirl’s crash and burn, we’ve spent a significant amount of digital ink reading the tea leaves of audience trends and the fate of the once-unstoppable superhero genre. However, in each of those posts you’ll find a caveat that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will undoubtedly prove that there’s still gold in them thar hills. Surprise! It’s tracking to beat Toy Story 5’s opening weekend. People sure do love that spider-guy. (Deadline)

Anyway, this thinkpiece explains why Dungeon Crawler Carl matters and I cosign it. (The Book Baddie Diaries)

I keep hearing people say that Hollywood is out of ideas, and they are right. So right. Probably the most right you can be if I’m being honest. (Variety)

Cheri Oteri dusted off her Barbara Walters impression, and I forgot to link it the other day. There is no excuse for my crime. (LateNighter)

Bjornsnipe recommends spending an afternoon with Albert Camus’ novella, The Stranger. “[He] leaves you to ponder out what exactly drove the events to the conclusion he sets forth; this is a novella that truly earns its categorization as a ‘philosophical/existential work.’” Have you read any Camus?
