When Anna Marie Tendler announced that she was publishing a memoir specifically about the men who have caused her “heartbreak and rage,” most people assumed that would include the famous stand-up comedian who left her for Olivia Munn after a stint in rehab. Or not! Turns out, her ex-husband John Mulaney does not appear in the book, “nor is he even alluded to.” On the one hand, obviously, this is Tendler’s story to tell on her own terms. She’s an artist, and this is her work. On the other, she came right out of the gate saying it was about the men who wronged her, and let’s be real, she knew exactly who that would infer. That’s like Kate Middleton writing a book called “The Bald Cheating Prince Whose Family Wants Me Dead Just Like His Mom,” but it’s really about some rando she knew in college. (Page Six)

So remember how E. Jean Carroll nailed Trump for defamation because he kept saying he’s innocent despite being found guilty in court? Well, Jonathan Majors is about to get a similar treatment from Grace Jabbari. (Uproxx)

I know it doesn’t seem like it is based on anything I’ve ever written, particularly from 2007 to 2017, but I actually do have a degree in journalism. So trust me when I say this is a big f*cking deal. (The Wrap)

Jmsudar loves a lot about Martha Wells’ Murderbot Diaries. “Another thing I love about this series is that it pushes back against a very popular and damaging modern trope: the idea that someone (specifically men, in like, 99% of the cases) can have superpowers by being un-empathetic sociopaths.” Have you been resisting picking up this popular scifi series? (Cannonball Read 16)

My apologies to Jen for robbing this one from her Friday trailer round-up, but there’s no way I couldn’t spout off about The Acolyte. I know this is hard to believe, based on my recaps, but I swear to God, I want these Star Wars series to be good. It’s not great to spend an hour watching them, and then several more writing about how I was bored to tears, with the obvious exception of Andor. Anyway, my point is that The Acolyte trailer is solid and full of all kinds of potential. (Manny Jacinto, baby!) But so was the first trailer for Ahsoka, and well, we all saw how that show farted out. Could Leslye Headland be crafting something special here though? I genuinely hope so, and again, I love everything she’s been saying in interviews. Just, argh, please be good!
