Welp, despite (waves hands around) you know, here I am bringing you three trailers and a little extra again this week. Or maybe it’s in spite of all that. I’m big on spite. Spite and coffee are the things that fuel me on off days. And this week has been one off day after another. Entertainment persists. The show must go on, as they say. So, let’s get to it. I’m back to horror movies for the moment. They’re my coping mechanism, leave me alone. Spooky Season forever, or at least the next four years.

Heretic opens today and Lindsay already gave it a pretty solid review after its TIFF premiere. The line that resonates with me the most from her review is this one:

His home isn’t a torture maze, it’s a box disguised as an escape room where the only solution is to engage in a fruitless debate with a man who is full up with fun facts that are about as deep as TikTok essays.

I can’t think of many things more terrifying than that. (I mean I can, but that’s another article.)

Heretic stars Hugh Grant, Sophie Thatcher (The Boogeyman), Choe East (The Fabelmans), and Topher Grace. It opens in theaters today, November 8th,

Also opening in theaters today is director George Nolfi’s (The Adjustment Bureau) latest film, Elevation. It’s a post-apocalyptic monster movie starring one of Pajiba’s perennial favorites.

Morena Baccarin, Anthony Mackie, Maddie Hasson (Malignant), Danny Boyd Jr., and Shauna Earp star in this one that premieres in theaters today.

I know finding comfort in horror movies makes me weird. Most normal people find comfort in cute, cuddly, friend-shaped things. So, here’s the trailer for Paddington In Peru.

Paddington In Peru stars Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, I Came By), Emily Mortimer (The New Look), Antonio Banderas, Olivia Colman, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, Jim Broadbent, and the voice work of Ben Whishaw, and Imelda Staunton.

Mark your calendars, Paddington In Peru will be released in US theaters on January 17, 2025.

Pizza for lagniappe, everybody! I don’t know where we’ll be able to watch this documentary about converting old Pizza Hut buildings into usable spaces. But it looks charming.
