Joe Rogan Says Any Comedian Criticizing Kevin Hart Roast Is a 'Traitor'

Hey, look, we’re making the same face.

Just when you thought the trash fire surrounding The Roast of Kevin Hart was over, Joe Rogan has entered the mix. For those of you blissfully unaware, the roast has been engulfed in controversy after Chelsea Handler and others called out Tony Hinchcliffe and Shane Gillis for firing off a litany of racist jokes. They claim they were just following instructions, and even Kevin Hart himself has defended them, but that doesn’t change the fact that Hinchcliffe and Gills were onstage making cracks about lynching and George Floyd. Those optics will never be good.

Well, you’re never going to believe which side of the debate Joe Rogan is on. It will truly shock you except I’m clearly being sarcastic. You know exactly where this is headed. Via The Daily Beast:

“If you’re a person and you’re not accustomed to roasts and you don’t get why those jokes are so mean, I get it, but comedians that are getting upset about these roast jokes, f*** all the way off. Just f*** all the way off,” Rogan said in an incendiary rant on his Joe Rogan Experience podcast on Friday.

“You f***ing traitor. You know what this is. You know exactly what this is. You’re a f***ing traitor,” he continued.

Because he’s always been baked in the right-wing sauce, Rogan basically accused critics like Handler and Nikki Glaser of virtue signaling. Or you know, being people with basic human decency.

“You’re just using this moment to try to boost yourself up, to try to knock down what’s happening in these,” he said. “You could disagree with the content. You could say, ‘I think they went too far with this. I don’t think…’ But this f***ing pretending that these people are actual racists and Nazis just because they’re telling these jokes that are in a roast. Like, f*** all the way off.”

Ironically, Rogan’s guest Harland Williams actually did say the racist jokes went too far, but then he made it clear why he’s a Joe Rogan guest. Big ol’ sigh coming up.

“I got to say I’m not the hugest fan because I don’t love cruel humor as much,” Williams said. “But I do love that Tom Brady roast. I feel like it kicked wokeness over the cliff like those Buffalo. We were getting so woke, and we needed that roast to sort of course correct.”

I’m old enough to remember The Roast of Tom Brady, but I don’t remember it being any sort of kick in the teeth to wokeness. I could be reading into this, but it sure seems like Williams wanted to extricate himself from the Kevin Hart discussion (on account of all the racism) and served up a shiny object to distract Rogan.

Personally, I would’ve just said, “Hey, do you think aliens are behind the vaccine?” but none of us really know how we’ll react in these situations until it happens.
