A little while back, I was blown away by T-Pain’s cover of the mighty Sabbath’s ‘War Pigs’. He did with that immortal tune what all the best cover versions do: Keep a connection to the origins, while giving it your own spin.
Now it seems as if the Prince of Darkness himself has discovered T-Pain’s effort:
This is the best cover of “War Pigs” ever. Why didn’t you guys call me? https://t.co/yf0IjUninA

Yes indeed, as if there were any doubts remaining, T-Pain knocked it out of the park with the live version of his mammoth cover of ‘War Pigs’. Here is a YouTube embed so you don’t have to faff about with Twitter:
That cover—inspired as it was—was, of course, just one of many on an album (‘On Top of the Covers’) full of impressive interpretations (including, among others, ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’, and ‘Don’t Stop Believin”). T-Pain and his band played the whole thing live a few weeks ago, and it rocks so much that we just have to include it here for all to enjoy:
T-Pain’s band there is as follows:
Music Director/ Bass/ Keys: Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones Jr.
Guitar: Curt Chambers
Drums: Clemons Poindexter
Keys: Joe Flip Wilson
Bgv and Bgv Director: Porcha Clay
Bgv: Chelsea “Peaches” West
Bgv: Kirsten Dawkins
Bgv: Jasmine Patton
