Of all the headlines I thought I’d be writing leading up to the season 11 premiere of Vanderpump Rules, not included was Lisa Vanderpump and her husband Ken Todd being sued for wrongful termination by former bartenders of TomTom Restaurant and Bar—the bar they own in partnership with Tom Sandoval of “Scandoval” fame and his bestie Tom Schwartz (well, kinda, last I checked the Toms only owned 5% of the business, each, but I digress)—for wrongful termination.
The bartenders in question worked at TomTom from May to December 2022, and it was in those months that they complained to management about unsavory working conditions, including “sewage and backup in the employee break/locker room.” The suit also states that the bartenders “experienced rampant violations of California labor laws, harassment, and unsafe working conditions.”
Now, I have several friends who, when visiting Los Angeles, have visited Vanderpump’s establishments, including TomTom, and reported their findings. The broad takeaway is that these places are filthy, the service terrible, and the food and drinks fall somewhere in the range of just okay to shockingly disgusting. So, these allegations track.
But, as if that weren’t enough, one of the claimants alleges that the Vanderpumps “blacklisted him by defaming him to future employers,” and made “false statements and comments to numerous third parties” that defamed his “profession, reputation and character.” They even state that they feel “rumors and false statements were made with actual malice.”
We’ve all had that one boss. And lest we forget Lisa Vanderpump’s exit from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which was mired in allegations of her selling stories about her cast mates to the press, including a story about Dorit Kemsley abandoning a puppy named Lucy Lucy Apple Juicey to a kill shelter. So, you know. She’s got priors.
Everyone stay vigilant during the season 11 premiere on the 30th and see if you can spot the filth. If TomTom is even featured, that is.
