Vine is just like Twitter and Instagram, in that it’s about 1% totally fantastic, and 99% crap. A very small segment of the Vine community uses the platform to make truly amazing art, or just simple funny things. But I know a full-grown woman who takes Vines of all of her meals. As in, six second videos of unmoving plates of food. Finally, though, there’s a Vine that makes up for all the total sh*t out there.
Behold, the first Vine from space:
Astronaut Reid Wiseman turned a 92-minute trip around the Earth into a 6-second video. And since in the weeks around the solstice the International Space Station travels parallel to the terminator line (that separates the day timey side of Earth from the sleepy time), the sun is visible for the whole trip. Pretty damn cool.

Vivian Kane once got to go to NASA for Bring Your Daughter to Work Day. There was an ice cream social with lady astronauts. She still tells that story.
