As it turns out, the Ebola strain killing the monkeys is the only strain of the Ebola virus that does not affect humans. So, while the fear and panic are real in the days before the scientists understand this, there are ultimately no human casualties. Knowing this may erase some of the concern viewers may have over the fates of the characters.
