FX has not yet announced a release date for the third season of it’s terrific drama, Fargo, and we’ve already had to go an entire year without an episode. However, we do know that the third season is in production, and that it is expected to air in the spring. We don’t know much about the storyline, either, except that it takes places in 2010, and it’s possible we could see Season 1 characters intersect with season three.
What we positively do know is that the cast this season is insane, and it only gets moreso by the day. Today, for instance, FX added David Thewlis to the cast. He is best known as Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter films.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg, because Jim Gaffigan is also in the third season playing a character with the awesome name of Donny Mashman.
Scoot McNairy of Halt & Catch Fire fame will also star.
Cool, right? Here’s where it starts to get really good, because Mary Elizabeth Winstead also stars in the third season.
Ewan McGregor is in it, too. He has TWO roles. He’ll play twin brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy.
And yet, somehow it gets even better, because Carrie Coon — of The Leftovers — will play the female lead.
See what I mean by insane?
