Nick Offerman, generally perfect human being, was on Conan last night to do this bit advertising his handcrafted wood emojis:

There’s a lot to love here, but I think the way it sort of perfectly skewers tech-centered communication but also the hipster/etsy/”artisan” crafting culture. “You can’t be made that I cancelled our date via emoji, because they’re hand-crafted emoji!” I do think they’re version of how they’d be used is inaccurate, though; you wouldn’t get someone hauling them around to deploy in person, they’d just arrange the at home and send a picture. Except for that one guy who would carry around the poop one everywhere.
