The dusty, manful straddles come courtesy of a fantastic cover story Michael Fassbender did for GQ. You can read the whole thing here and go ahead and drink in the photos. No, no. Take your time. I’ll wait.
In the article, Fassbender says he won’t be campaigning for an Oscar this year for his devilish work in 12 Years A Slave. He doesn’t say it in a nasty, petulant way. Though you can’t blame him for being put out after campaigning so hard for Shame and being passed over. He tells GQ:
You know, I get it. Everybody’s got to do their job. So you try and help and facilitate as best you can. But I won’t put myself through that kind of situation again. It’s just a grind. And I’m not a politician. I’m an actor.
The bottom line, though, is that Fassbender will be busy working during campaign season. Doing what you ask? Oh just filming Macbeth with Marion Cotillard. So, sorry Oscar campaign, Herr Fassbender will be otherwise occupied. Can you blame him?
