Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the very important and very culturally relevant* film Kindergarten Cop will be getting a straight to DVD/Blu-Ray in the near future. Arnold himself will not be involved, and the script will be written by American Pie screenwriter David H. Steinberg. The main character in this one will have a partner, and they will be searching for a flash drive rather than a criminal’s ex-wife. So, really, it just sounds like they wanted to set a cop movie in a kindergarten again and figured that calling it a “remake” would get more attention. Thumbs up, guys, it’s working!
The original Kindergarten Cop came out in 1990, and if it were a person it would be old enough to rent a car without a real adult present.
*I am guessing, I have never seen it, but have had a lot of people yell “IT’S NHAT A TUUMMAAAA” at me when I say that. As far as I know, that’s the only scene in the movie.
