(SPOILER ALERT: This article contains SPOILERS for the final season of “Breaking Bad” currently airing Sundays on AMC.)

Last Sunday two of the most significant pop culture occurrences of this, the two thousand and thirteenth, year of our Lord occurred almost simultaneously: Miley Cyrus’s coming out party and Walter White’s video confauxion to his in-laws, Hank and Marie Schraeder. The Internet was beside itself with two extremely compelling distractions from both Batman and Syria, so naturally the Internet also saw fit to mash the two indelible moments into one delightful montage. On their own, neither Miley nor Hank and Marie should really work: the former is just too silly for anyone to take it as seriously as they have and the latter is a scene on television’s current most important show where two people literally watch television. And, yet, they both worked. Together, they were magic. That magic created a whole new meme: Hank and Marie Reacting to Things, wherein “things” can be anything (like Miley Cyrus at the VMAs) that the “Breaking Bad” actors Dean Norris and Betsy Brandt can believably react to within the context of their fictional den.

So, is that new meme an actual contender to replace the Angry Hitler meme, wherein a scene of Adolf Hitler ranting in the German film Downfall is subtitled to dress down any culturally rant-worthy topic, which previously shocked and awed the Internet into submission?

Short Answer: Yes.

For a longer answer, Variety has you covered.

For an answer provided via 12 pieces of video evidence divided up by three separate categories from just this past week, see below.

(SPOILER ALERT: For, oh, pretty much everything.)

The meme expands to all popular culture:

Hank and Marie React to the Batfleck News

Hank and Marie Watch Sharknado

Hank and Marie Watch “The Rains of Castamere” from “Game of Thrones”

Hank and Marie Watch “Futurama”

Hank and Marie Watch Chunk’s Goonies Confession

Then the meme goes meta:

Hank and Marie Watch “Malcolm in the Middle”

Hank and Marie Watch “Seinfeld”

Hank and Marie Watch Bryan Cranston’s Reddit AMA

Hank and Marie Watch Aaron Paul on “The Price is Right”

Finally, the meme becomes self-aware:

Hank and Marie Watch Hank and Marie

Honestly, I’m shocked that Hank and Marie Reacting to Angry Hitler Ranting about Hank and Marie Reacting to Angry Hitler Ranting hasn’t been done yet. Only then will the student become the master.
