Here's Why We're So Sad to See Adam Pally Leave 'The Mindy Project'

This is a sad night for people who love having Adam Pally on their TV screens. Tonight marked the end of Pally’s run as a series regular on The Mindy Project. He’s slated to return on occasion, and he’s signed a two-year deal with ABC Studios under his new production company (Clone Wolf Productions), so we’re not saying goodbye forever. Still, it’s hard to see Peter Prentice go. Of course, any Happy Endings fan had a bias, and was destined to love Peter before he even showed up on Mindy.
But Peter was special. He was originally written as a recurring guest star, but quickly got bumped up to series regular. And it was clear why. He was exactly what the show needed. He was the man-child Morgan was supposed to be.
He had the sexual aggression that Jeremy was aiming for before that character went totally off the rails.
And even though he’s a total fratty bro—
He’s also the best friend that Mindy so desperately needed after Anna Camp left.
Yes, Peter may have his shortcomings,
But he’s the perfect combination of heart,
Emotional depth,
And A+ wingman.
So long, Peter Prentice. You taught us how to live.
We’ll always be on your team.
