Now, before you ask - no, I have not been abducted by aliens and replaced by a BuzzFeed doppelganger. Or at least, if my identity was stolen by an evil twin, it happened before the bread fucking post. And yet, here I am, offering a #workout #hack for all and sundry. Here it is:
Trailer music.
Trailer music, i.e. music specifically crafted for use in movie trailers, is the absolute best thing to exercise to. It’s my go-to very-brisk-walking music (jogging? LOL please), because it tends to be high energy and is out-and-out designed to get you pumped. The downside is that each individual track is pretty short… about the length of an average trailer, you might say… so it helps to have a bunch of songs in a playlist, interspersed with whatever else you like to have on to distract yourself from the fact that exercising is hellaciously fucking boring. (Musicals. What?) I feel better after I’ve exercised, but it’s a slog and a half to get me to actually do it. Trailer music makes me feel like my treadmill session is some sort of epic quest. To wit:
If anyone knows where to find the instrumental version of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” from the Kubo and the Two Strings trailer, hit me up. It’s my holy grail.
