Ewan McGregor Can't Sing in a French Accent and Jack Whitehall Has a Bad Night
Last night’s The Graham Norton Show was heavily UK centric with guests Ewan McGregor, Jack Whitehall, and formula one driver Lewis Hamilton. All three of them have done voice over work for Disney, to varying degrees of success. Here’s where you learn that while Ewan McGregor can be many things, he apparently cannot be French. As he’s playing Lumiere in the new Beauty and the Beast movie, this is concerning news.
They then continued on the theme of “things Jack Whitehall has been left out of” as Lewis Hamilton discussed getting his MBE and meeting the Queen for lunch and Ewan McGregor talked about getting his OBE. Interesting to note that apparently the Queen’s guests are briefed on proper dining etiquette by the Queen. You’d think she’d have someone given them a little talk beforehand.
Jack Whitehall continued to have a poor showing as he got called out for not being able to drive by Lewis Hamilton who seemed genuinely puzzled as to how this could happen. I don’t think it’s that unusual for people who grow up in big cities with decent public transportation, like London, but when you’ve got a theme that’s working best to stick with it.
Occasionally I am reminded that Jack Whitehall tried out for the part of Harry Potter and it makes me want to go hug Daniel Radcliffe.
