Watch the Trailer for Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's 'AIR'

Last year, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck — who rode Kevin Smith’s coattails to fame over 25 years ago (oh, and also wrote and starred in Good Will Hunting — launched a production company designed to give filmmakers more opportunities to make commercially successful films for adults, the kind of movies that Damon and Affleck have often been associated with for much of their careers (Argo, Ford vs. Ferrarri, etc.).

The first film to come out of that production company is AIR, which is directed by Affleck and stars both of them, along with Jason Bateman, Viola Davis, and Chris Tucker. It’s the first time Affleck has ever directed his longtime friend. The film is about the “partnership between a then-rookie Michael Jordan and Nike’s fledgling basketball division, which revolutionized the world of sports and contemporary culture with the Air Jordan brand.” It looks fun, although I can’t quite place the tone. Serious? Droll? Droll serious?

AIR will arrive in theaters in April.
