If you are one of those people who walks around without an inner voice in their heads, I highly recommend hiring H. Jon Benjamin to do it. He does a bang-up job for Bill Skarsgård in the trailer for Boy Kills World. The movie, which Lindsay saw at TIFF, also stars Sharlto Copley (District 9), Famke Janssen (X-Men), Samara Weaving (Ready Or Not), Andrew Koji (Bullet Train), Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), Isaiah Mustafa (It Chapter Two), and Brett Gelman (Stranger Things). Sam Raimi is at the top of the list of producers, supporting my thesis that Sam Raimi does comedic, absurdist violence better than anyone.

With bonus points for another shirtless Skarsgård performing a bit of the ol’ ultraviolence, Boy Kills World opens in theaters on April 26th.

Speaking of violence, Guy Ritchie is great at it. His upcoming Netflix series, The Gentlemen, is no exception. The show, which only shares a title with the 2019 film, stars Theo James (White Lotus, The Divergent Series), Ray Winstone (The Departed), Peter Serafinowicz (The Tick), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Joely Richardson (Color Out Of Space), and Kaya Scodelario (Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City)

The eight-episode series begins streaming on Netflix on March 7th.

At the end of the 1990’s Arachnophobia, Jeff Daniels and his family flee the small, rural town overrun with spiders and move to the creepy-crawly-free Big City. Sting proves nowhere is safe from oversized spiders. Which is not something I needed to think about.

Writer/Director Kiah Roache-Turner created some real nightmare fuel with this movie that stars Alyla Browne (Nine Perfect Strangers). You’ve been warned.

Sting opens in theaters on April 12th.

There is absolutely nothing any of us liked about this week’s lagniappe. It doesn’t even have Idris Elba in it. We’re rooting for the lions to eat everyone involved.
