Look, I know I just complained about crossovers. And I stand by it. But I’m still ridiculously excited for The Marvels, the upcoming MCU movie that puts Kamala Khan, Monica Rambeau, and Carol Danvers in the same place. They just might not always be there at the same time. It seems their cosmic powers are interfering with each other and wreaking havoc on the galactic front. It looks like the movie picks up right after the Ms. Marvel finale, when Carol Danvers found herself in Kamala’s bedroom.

I defy you to watch that without a smile on your face. It’s difficult to choose my favorite part. Kamala’s (Iman Vellani) fangirling? Carol’s (Brie Larson) aggravation? Samuel L. Jackson pronouncing Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) like she’s the Stallone character? I’m kidding; it’s obviously the return of Goose the Flerkin. And she had kittens! Which, to be fair, are vicious little murder monsters with razors on each toe so I’m not sure mouth tentacles make them any more terrifying.

Check out the trailer:

Look, Ms. Marvel was great. Monica Rambeau was one of the best parts of Wandavision’s disappointing back half. And all the culture war nonsense aside, Captain Marvel stands head and shoulders above most MCU origin stories. Questions remain — why did the studio change the S.W.O.R.D. space station to S.A.B.E.R for one — but I’m more excited for this than any other recent MCU offering. Too bad we have to wait so long to see it.

The Marvels blasts into theaters on November 10.
