So, You Asked Harrison Ford About Anchor Beings in the MCU

Despite starring in both Star Wars and Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford has famously not given a single f*ck when it comes to nerd questions about those properties. You’ll be delighted to know that he’s bringing the exact same energy to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Over the weekend, Ford made an appearance at Comic-Con to promote Captain America: Brave New World. Ford took over the role of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, who was previously played by the late William Hurt. This time around, Ross has made it all the way to the White House, and just like Air Force One, Ford is once again playing a POTUS who gets right into the fray.

You might consider this a spoiler, but Marvel is openly broadcasting that Ford’s Ross will turn into the Red Hulk, following suit from the comics. The Captain America presentation made no secret that Ford is Red Hulk, and neither did he! The actor can be curmudgeonly as hell when he wants to be, but he can also be freaking hilarious.

While Ford seemed to have a blast on stage, he clearly had less of one dealing with reporters. Case in point, Screenrant asked Ford about “anchor beings” — a concept that was only just introduced in Deadpool & Wolverine — and he literally just walked away. This is a guy who will tell you to your face that he doesn’t give a sh*t about Force ghosts, and you’re asking him about the freaking multiverse. How did you think that was gonna go?

Ford was also peppered with questions about playing the Red Hulk, and he didn’t even try to hide that he only cared about one thing: Those big ol’ bags of Marvel money.

Things got downright ridiculous when he was asked who would be better at handling snakes, Thunderbolt Ross or Indiana Jones. Like the goddamn American hero that he is, Ford point blank said, “I will not answer that stupid question.”

At this rate, Harrison Ford’s going to be punching out nerds at the premiere for asking him about Celestials, which honestly, sounds way more entertaining than the movie. I would pay money to see that. I won’t wait for Disney+ on that action.
