Adam Scott has been acting in film and television since the early 90’s. For many of those decades, he was a “guy who’s in that thing.” He would show up and you’d think, “I know him!” Parks & Recreation helped him garner more mainstream attention. He’s appeared in hit shows like Big Little Lies and, more recently, Severance. His career is extensive and it’s about to get more so.
Deadline reports that Scott will be making his directorial debut with a film called Double Booked, which he will also star in. Sterling K. Brown, Zazie Beetz, and Alexandra Daddario will also star in the movie. It tells the story of a couple (Scott and Beetz) who reserve themselves a secluded lodge only to arrive and find another couple already there. A snowstorm hits, forcing them all to stay there together and things turn “chilling” and “deadly.”
Scott is looking forward to getting behind the camera. “I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Protagonist and Dichotomy to bring this audacious, crowd-pleasing, white knuckle thriller to the screen,” said Scott about the project. “I’d been looking for something to direct for years, and Double Booked checked all the boxes. Along with our unbelievable cast, I can’t wait to make it and share it with the world.”
He isn’t lying about the cast being unbelievable. Sterling K. Brown is fresh off a well-deserved Oscar nomination for his work in American Fiction. Zazie Beetz made a name for herself on the hit FX show Atlanta and has worked consistently ever since. Alexandra Daddario has been working since the early 2000s and recently starred in the first season of The White Lotus.
Scott has been able to work on some high-profile projects with inventive directors. Severance is a prime example. The direction on that show is tight and interesting. It will be fun to see what he brings when he finally gets a chance to direct. This is a movie to get excited for.
