Brett Ratner May Be Directing 'Rush Hour 4' Because of ... the President

Here’s one of the weirder stories circulating today: Brett Ratner, as many know, directed a documentary about Melania Trump that Amazon inexplicably paid $40 million for. It will hit theaters in January.

Brett Ratner, of course, has been a disgraced and canceled director for years because of multiple allegations against him, including from Olivia Munn. But he’s apparently in the good graces of Piggy. And Piggy is friendly with Larry and David Ellison, who now own Paramount, a movie studio. Piggy wants Brett Ratner to make another Rush Hour movie, and the Ellisons give the man what he wants because he greases the wheels for their growing media empire, which could soon include Warner Bros. Discovery. That acquisition could result in the termination of CNN anchors Piggy does not care for, like Erin Burnett.

Anyway, Rush Hour 4 is reportedly in the works, despite the fact that Jackie Chan is in his 70s and Chris Tucker has appeared in only one movie — Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Air — in the last nine years.

Mostly, though, I just wanted to write about this story because of this post about Melania Trump’s doc from cinematographer Dylan Sanford, who was the cinematographer on — among many other things — The Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show Starring Kendrick Lamar. For what it’s worth.
