Netflix has revealed a spinoff of the 2018 Sandra Bullock film, Bird Box, which was the most-watched original film on the streamer until the release of Red Notice. The first of several planned spin-offs is titled Bird Box Barcelona. It shows what happened in Europe during the events of the original Bird Box, which was about a mother, played by Bullock, trying to protect her family from monsters that killed anyone who looked at them.

No plot details have been revealed for Bird Box Barcelona, but we can guess from the trailer that this is essentially a Spanish-language remake. We’re accustomed to Americans stealing great international films and turning them into lousy American versions, but the opposite is not as common. Either that or we are simply not exposed to remakes of American films in other countries.

Bird Box Barcelona is directed by Alex and David Pastor, who previously directed The Occupant for Netflix. It will be released on Netflix on July 14.
