Our First Look At 'The Batman Part 2' Which Has Been Delayed Yet Again

There is some good news and (more) bad news when it comes to the long-awaited, highly anticipated, and repeatedly delayed sequel The Batman Part II.

First, the good news. There is very little footage for us to look at, but we are given an incredibly brief teaser of the film, which opens with police radio chatter heard against a black screen, as we fade in to see the Caped Crusader himself (played by Robert Pattinson) slowly turning to ice-grill the camera, while snowflakes fall from the sky and police lights are seen in the background.

The bad news: The Batman Part II will not be released in theaters on October 1, 2027, because its release date has now been pushed to February 18, 2028. (I couldn't help but laugh at one of the first Instagram comments, which stated that we're really going to get Grand Theft Auto VI before we get The Batman Part II.)

So if you were looking forward to seeing both Man of Tomorrow (which is scheduled to open July 9) and The Batman Part II in your movie theater of choice next year, while continuing to wish and hope that we can get a World's Finest movie with David Corenswet's Superman and Pattinson's Batman onscreen together (even though this version of Batman is not part of the DCU, much to the assumed disappointment of James Gunn, who still has yet to introduce the DCU's version of Batman and the Bat-Family in The Brave and the Bold)? You'll have to wait a little while longer for the latter, and continue coming up with elaborate theories as to which villains will actually make an appearance in the film. (Some fans on social media are thinking that it might be Two-Face, Poison Ivy, and/or the Court of Owls as the villains of choice.)

Until both films are released, we still have other DC Studios projects to look forward to in the months to come: Lanterns, starring Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre as Hal Jordan and John Stewart of the Green Lantern Corps, premieres on HBO August 16; Clayface, starring Tom Rhys Harries, Naomi Ackie, and Max Minghella, opens October 23; and the second season of Creature Commandos is expected to premiere on HBO Max next year before Man of Tomorrow is released in theaters.

Me, personally? I'll continue making offerings to all of the Etsy witches so that we get Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle in a Catwoman miniseries on HBO Max next year, and that Cristin Milioti will show up as Sofia Falcone Gigante in The Batman Part II as well.
